To be fair the owner was very nice and courteous and offered to comp repair price but I am listing this review because the xbox I had taken in to be repaired for hdmi issues was fixed for 2 weeks then the connector completely snapped. Also I would take it back but the first time I took it in no one would contact me back the entire time and I literally thought I would never see my xbox again. Sorry to tech guys but if the xbox worked I would not have posted but I am back to broken xbox and $150 out of pocket for idk what.

Best of the best tech guys I’ve met in my life. I build a whole brand new top PC, and power supply I bought online was not working, take few hours to double check and they pretty sure its power supply issues. TLDR: Excellent communication, in-depth repair service, all at a great price at a great location. My compliments to Seth and the rest of the crew.

I had an catastrophic computer issue that I couldn't find the cause of. I had initially taken it to Microcenter who charged me $85 up front to even look at it. After two days, they wanted ~$1,000 to fix what they had identified as a corrupted hard drive.
I had heard of The Tech Guys through a family member so I decided to check them out instead. They were very thorough in their explanation of how they would go about diagnosing and fixing the issue (which ended up being a corrupt Windows installation, not a corrupted hard drive), all for a flat rate. They also fixed some additional minor issues I hadn't mentioned as well as some complimentary cable management.
The staff is very personable and down-to-earth, making sure everyone is on the same page with what they're going to do to fix it and how.

I am very satisfied with the work that was done. I recommend them wholeheartedly and will continue to use their services in the future.

The Tech Guys *greatly* exceeded my expectations -- and I had already read all their 5-star reviews. I gave them my pretty complicated watercooled PC for several services (flush and refill, full cleaning, new thermal paste, parts replacement, and troubleshooting a difficult-to-nail-down posting issue). They did it all, and my computer came home behaving and looking better than when I built it 7 years ago. On top of all that, their pricing is excellent.

You won't find better, more competent service anywhere in DFW. I highly recommend The Tech Guys!

I had an excellent experience with The Tech Guys, couldn't recommend them more. Really happy I found them by coincidence after going to Microcenter for a bundle. I initially came in looking to replace my motherboard, RAM, CPU and cooler, but after bringing my PC home and having some issues with both noise and temperature, they worked with me to get everything settled.

Seth was very considerate of my time and always did his best to get things done for me same-day (if at all possible) due to my long commute to Dallas, and whenever I had any questions regarding any of the upgrades and/or changes we were making, he was always willing to involve me in the process. It’s seldom I recommend a place of business but I can honestly say that Seth at Tech Guys far surpassed my highest expectations in every way. The Wi-Fi, usb ports, audio and touchscreen on my HP laptop all quit functioning. Seth spent 2 hours reloading all the drivers and testing to get me back up and running, and only charged me the diagnostic fee.

Seth’s in-depth knowledge of everything PC was obvious and he shared a lot of helpful info with me. During that time, I also had the opportunity to see how professional and helpful he was with two other customers that came in while I was there.

The pricing is very fair and upfront, and he even suggested that if I needed hardware I could purchase for less on Amazon, etc and he would be glad to install it.

The Tech Guys is definitely the place to go for PC repair.

First, I wanna say that this spot is extremely efficient, knowledge and kind. I’ve been to 3 different shops that have been rude, annoyed and impatient with my little knowledge on PC’s (I’m just a girl that loves to game). As soon as I come in, I was welcomed in and watched as he worked his magic. He took the time to explain to me each part of the process he was doing, which was a great learning moment for me. And walked through numerous steps to find the issue at hand. Once we discovered the issue he gave me solutions on what I could do. Mind you free of charge. I had a software problem with a new Windows 11 computer. I thought that it would have to be wiped clean and a new installation of Windows 11 installed. During the consultation the tech made one minor change to a setting that I would never have found, even with AI. This corrected the problem and now the machine is correctly displaying on the monitor. I was not charged the basic fee and the consult only took about 15 minutes. It was a super business experience. I highly recommend The Tech Guys for computer service.

For more of an actual review:
I would say that it's important to ask timeline expectations as I failed to do so and was without my PC for most of a week (partially due to a holiday). My expectations were for a day or two at most.

That was somewhat frustrating but was made up for when I went to pick up the device. I mentioned another issue I was having and they spent the next 45 minutes trying to diagnose the issue, just because they wanted the job done right. They're clearly passionate about what they do and I would highly recommend.

These guys are amazing! My PC was very dirty from much dust being accumulated over some years. I clean/ dust it every now and then to keep it looking clean. However, there are many areas where I am unable to get to, or dust that is already too stuck to get rid of with a superficial wipe. I was looking around for someone who would take the PC apart and clean the components individually as I don't have the tools or time to do so myself. They were the only ones I found to provide the service I was looking for, as everywhere else simply did superficial dusting (basically what I am able to do). I really wanted all the parts to be cleaned thoroughly and these guys were able to do just that. They were very friendly and serviceable, got the job done much quicker than I expected, added new thermal paste to the CPU, and even did a temp test on it after being done in order to make sure everything was okay. When I went to pick it up I was really impressed by how clean it looked. It looked like when I first built it about 3 to 4 years ago. They booted it up while I was there to demonstrate the finished job and made sure I was satisfied. Needless to say, I was indeed very satisfied with the job. I definitely recommend these guys. Their service, knowledge, and friendly attitude are all top notch.

I would absolutely recommend The Tech Guys for any of your gaming PC needs. I took my PC in for a motherboard, CPU, RAM, and cooler install and was blown away at the level of service I received from Seth. On top of the service, my PC was ready for pickup the next day. When I got there to pick it up he let me test it and we noticed an issue where some games weren’t registered as installed by Steam despite being downloaded. He let me stay and helped troubleshoot the issue with me until it was fixed. The Tech Guys will be my go to for any future PC upgrades I need!

I found these guys by a Google search for computer repair in my area. I am SO GLAD I went to their website! I read all the frank, honest-sounding reviews so I gave them a chance. My HP laptop was frozen on the startup screen. Wouldn't you know, it happened on a Friday evening, and YIKES to say the least! I REALLY needed my PC for work and for a class that weekend. 10/10. My desktop PC was crashing out every 2 minutes so I took it in yesterday; Seth worked on it for 6 straight hours until he was able to correctly diagnose and fix the issue (bad motherboard AND a bad RAM stick, talk about comorbidity). I took my pc in to check for any water damage after I spilled a bit of water, and when I took it in, they ran a few diagnostics infront of me so we could see what was wrong. After 1.5 days of further testing, they managed to fix my pc without doing anything major, just a simple disassemble, clean, and reasonable, without any extra charge. Customer friendly, understanding, and knowledgeable, willing to talk and explain their processes.

They were a little out of the way from me but I took the trip based on their positive reviews. I'm very happy with the service I received for my PC that needed an AIO cooler replacement. They were fast, courteous and professional and put up with all of my questions! It was pretty clear the pump was failing but they made sure to test before confirming it needed the replacement. After installing the new cooler, they were enthusiastic to demonstrate in store just how nice the temps are now, and I'm happy to say it's running in the 20s c at idle and 40s-50s at load, for a cpu rated up to 80+ degrees :D This makes me feel way better after after seeing it shutting down at 110 degrees. The installation was well done, my rig is cleaner than I brought it and I appreciate the top mounted radiator! And the price was very reasonable, just about what I expected. Thanks again, I'll be bringing other hardware here.

I came in a few months ago after my computer blue screened and wiped everything. When I finally powered it back up, I noticed the sound wasn’t working. I brought it in and the team quickly figured out it was either a corrupted driver or just muted. Turns out it was muted the whole time. They also updated everything for me, checked for issues, and got it running smoothly.

I also brought in an older music production laptop I had tried upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 10. That upgrade broke a lot of my software. They were honest and said it would be more effort than it’s worth to keep it alive, but they helped me pull the hard drive and store it safely until I’m ready to recover old projects. They even gave tips on running XP through a virtual machine on a new computer.

They didn’t charge me for the diagnostic or hard drive removal. The honesty, technical skill, and care from everyone I talked to was rare. Definitely recommend. Professional, patient, and straight to the point.

I've been running into issue on my Aleinware with my basic games running with low fps and stutters. Thought it was about time to get it repasted.

These guys took me as a walk-in and looked into the issue right away. Turns out I needed some liquid metal. They threw some thermal paste to hold me over till the liquid metal came in. (Free of charge for the liquid metal and because they couldn't get me to where they wanted to me running wise)

Came back a few days later, and Seth stayed late to make sure my laptop was done the same day I dropped it off.

These guys are awesome and will do whatever they can to make sure you get the results you want. Can't be happier and thankful that I chose this spot.

Update. I paid to be on their subscription tech service. Very glad I did. Have used it twice now. It's great to know where to go to take care of any computer problem that has me stumped. My first review: Outstanding. GO HERE FIRST!! So glad I found The Tech Guys. Computer had a virus or malware or both. Something I was able to take care of myself once in the past. Usually my virus protection has worked very well. One shop had failed to fix the problem. Tech Guys were able to take care of the problem and they installed more malware protection. All at a great price. Much less than the shop who said they'd taken care of the problem but had not. In the past I'd had a tech guy that came to my house and cost the earth. Did an okay job but not great. Over the zillion years I've had a home computer and been online (I'm old enough to remember even no computers of any kind at work.) I have rarely needed tech support. But when it is needed it is really, really needed. I have also been to two other tech repair places in Richardson and the Tech Guys are much faster. Big plus is they are so very pleasant to deal with and explain everything so well.

Unfortunately I need to edit my review. I’m really upset and now set back an additional $600. My computer failed during use over the weekend, shut off and refused to even post. I took it for diagnostics. My CPU was dead, something that rarely ever happens. The technician took it apart and checked the motherboard under microscope and found a bent pin. This caused a short circuit that eventually fried my CPU. The motherboard survived and was able to be repaired but now I have to replace the more expensive CPU. I know we opted for a used motherboard as replacement, but the fact the bent pin was missed or that it maybe wasn’t even inspected before putting working parts on it is unacceptable.

I had my first, relatively new PC build no longer boot up and didn’t have time/knowledge to figure it out myself. I dropped it off and Seth had it narrowed down to two possibilities in less than 10 minutes.
The motherboard was replaced and rebuilt for a decent price and it’s running great again.
However, when I brought it home I noticed the fans were running at full RPM and the NZXT software wasn’t recognizing my cooler or fans. Troubleshooted myself and realized the hub USB hadn’t been reconnected to the motherboard.
The next day I realized the USB C port on the top of the case had no power. Opened up the case a second time and found that the plug hadn’t been fully snugged in to the motherboard.
Minor annoyances, would still recommend.

Did a bunch of tests to make sure my solid state hard drive was really my problem and then replaced it. They imaged the drive so I couldn't tell that anything had even been replaced when I got back home except that I had to pair a couple of Bluetooth devices again. Excellent work at a very reasonable price. I'll be a customer the next time I need some computer work done.

The guy that helped me was a very kind and patient tech. My computer wouldn’t post so he took a look at it. He answered all of the questions I had about all of it which made me happy and made it a learning experience as well. We found out that it was a dead motherboard but it really helped cuz I didn’t have any extra parts to see if it was the hardware so I’m grateful for your help. Went here to get my laptop fixed, got that done in less than a day for half of what other places quoted. Okay I saw this place online when my gigantic mobile desktop was on its way out the door! These guys have five stars and reviews with almost 300 reviews! It pretty much speaks for itself!

When I took my laptop to get looked at, they told me that it was about time to retire the computer. I asked them if they would build me a computer and right away they gave me a list of parts within 24 hours, I went and picked up the parts and then they built the computer within 3 days! Actually let me correct that, it was 1 day because I'm not counting the hours they were closed for Christmas holidays!

I will be starting a relationship with these people with my technology! I won't be going anywhere else unless this place goes belly up! With how well they do with their business and how informed and educated they are with their craft, I would be very surprised if anything happened to them!

I found The Tech Guys via a Google search and saw they were well recommended. I took my dad's computer to them after his only description of the issue being "it won't turn on." After five minutes with Seth, he found the issue and fixed it. Seth is professional, kind, patient, and thorough. Their shop is a little hard to find (it's on the back of a shopping center; very easy to miss if you're not paying attention), so I'd recommend some signage for wayfinding, but the service itself was phenomenal. I definitely would come back!

I have not used the services of this shop, but I did find multiple Reddit accounts related to this shop shilling for this company in a deceiving manner.

One account would post asking for a repair shop recommendation, then several others would recommend this shop. It doesn't take a detective to look at post history to find previous shill comments from these accounts, stating they own the shop, or even the name of one of the shill accounts pretending to be a customer but whose username had "TheTechGuys" in it.

If you're going to be a fraud and post deceiving comments, at least be more discrete about it, sheesh.

So I would take all these positive Google reviews with a grain of salt, notice most of them have no other reviews? I am pretty sure they are just shill accounts from this dishonest company. Would you trust a company that has to lie and deceive to get your business?

The reviews are real. The Tech Guys are humble, professional, and friendly. I have taken my Tech there 3 times for upgrades or repair and they have done a great job on all 3! Best part are their prices. I was able to pay a fraction of the price compared to the competition so I'll definitely continue going back to them for my Tech needs!! I moved almost an hour away but it's still worth the drive for the service they provide.

If you choose to go with the Tech Guys, make sure you ask for Seth for your repairs. Between him and Yard, he was able to get my work done with quicker, better, and went above and beyond in all his work.

I'll start by saying that the guys at the shop are nice and I think they're good folks. I personally had issues with them building a PC for me.

I dropped off computer parts, including a bundle from Microcenter for them to assemble a PC for me. I have no experience and didn't want to have to think about it and just wanted a stress-free assembly. After dropping the parts off, I mentioned that comments online had said the BIOS would need to be flashed in order for the Mobo to recognize the processor. This note was ignored and a day later they called saying my motherboard wouldn't boot to BIOS. They claimed the Mobo was damaged and would need to be returned. I reminded them about the issue, and looked up the solution for them. I found a simple step by step guide of how to fix the issue that was for this exact bundle.

A day later they called and said they couldn't get it to work and again that the mobo was broken. It didn't sound like they followed the guide I sent at all. So I drove into the shop and went through the process step by step with them and it worked. So the solution that I had to look up for them was either ignored or performed wrong, and I had to come in and walk them through it. Not having to deal with these issues is exactly why I was paying them to do it.

I was offered $10 off for the trouble ($225 was the assembly fee) which I felt was insufficient considering I was the one who had to find the solution and physically come in to perform the job.

Overall I was very disappointed that I, a guy who has never built a PC and barely knows the word BIOS, had to walk them through the solution, and had to pay to do it.

Again, they're nice guys from what I can tell, but I wouldn't pay them to assemble another PC because I don't trust their problem solving skills, or attention to detail in regards to following a guide.

During my experience with this shop it was top tier. Before initially coming in I called to see if they could help resolve my issues. Immediately after explaining the situation I was told that they have done this a thousand times before and it would be an easy fix. I had spoken to others shops and none were as clear cut this is a small business but absolutely great people who care for there work and put the time. So above all definitely deserve 5 stars will go again if repairs are needed.

Nowadays it’s stressful to know who to trust, where to go, and if I’m not being ripped off. But with my blind faith, I decided to try their services since they have a good rating (almost 5 stars). And I can confidently say that The Tech Guys is one of, if not, the best computer support companies I’ve ever met and deserves more than that rating. When I brought my laptop to them for repairs, they were able to successfully examine, run diagnostics, and repair effectively for a price way cheaper than the usual big computer stores. I at first was skeptical of the price, but it turns out that’s how they actually run their business, full of honest and genuine care. There were no hidden fees, and no poor performances. I would visit them every time for repairs from now on. 5/5

Seith was attentive to listen to my perception of the computer problem, then turned on my computer, I signed it in, and in less than a minute he diagnosed the issue, explained how to fix it, and then fixed it! Two minutes tops my computer was back to working normally! We discussed the possibility of using them as a reference point for future computer issues as well as phone call possibilities. I took my older gaming rig into the shop to see if the system was compatible with an OS upgrade. AJ and Seth were extremely helpful. While we did determine that my old rig is no longer upgradable, the team put in every effort to make it work. I had bought parts for a gaming pc and asked tech guys to build it for me. The benefits of building a gaming pc instead of prebuilt is that you can choose the exact parts yourself and even save up to a thousand dollars. I worked with AJ. He completed it in a couple of hours and even installed program drivers. He was very pleasant to work with. I can't wait to game on my 50in tv with a geforce 4080 pc. The tech guys are very knowledgeable about computer realted issues. I highly recommend them for building gaming pcs and any repairs.

These guys are great, treat you like one of their own. Was mainly in communication with AJ and figured out my problem within two day. Make time to leave your computer or devices at their office for a couple days so they can figure out a solution and or repair your item.
